Rev Paul Savage

My name is Paul and I am the new Vicar here at Stapleford Parish, whichever of the churches you are part of I am sure you will be welcomed as we have.

I love Jesus, my wife and family. I enjoy cake, curry & proper coffee (a bit too much), watching movies, playing bad golf, supporting Westham (sorry!) and trying to be more active (as I like cake and curry a bit too much).  We are looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with Nottingham, exploring and getting to know Stapleford, meeting new people, seeing the churches grow and journeying together on this adventure called life with one another and Jesus.

The churches here in Stapleford, want to encourage you to discover that you are created in God’s image with purpose and meaning. That the Kingdom of God is bigger than the limits we often place on it, we are called to be a church of all ages, where people from all cultures and nationalities can find home, whether they are a refugee or have always lived here. Finally, each one of us needs to change and become more like Jesus, this is the hardest bit and we need a Christ centred community to help us to truly grew as Christians, we cannot do that alone.

I hope we can enjoy food and conversation soon.

Emma Rolls, Curate

We are excited to announce that Emma Rolls, will be coming to Stapleford Parish as our New Curate in July. She hails from both the Midlands and North Yorkshire, and has a rich spiritual journey. Raised in a churchgoing home, she made a life-changing commitment to follow Jesus at the age of 16 and her faith was nurtured through active participation in the local youth group.

In 2017, Emma relocated to Nottingham to pursue her academic interests. She studied Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Nottingham. During her time there, she helped establish Just Love Nottingham, a society for Christian students passionate about social justice.

Emma’s heart for justice continued to grow, fueled by an internship year at St Margaret’s church. It was during this period that she discerned a calling to ordination. In 2022, she commenced her training at St Mellitus College, East Midlands. She has been on placement at St Stephen’s, Sneinton which she has found fulfilling and she is grateful for the experience.

Her life and ministry are deeply rooted in pastoral care and community building. Emma’s favorite retreat is by the seaside in Yorkshire, where she finds solace and inspiration. Her friends and family hold a cherished place in her heart.

Emma is set to serve her title alongside Revd Paul Savage in the Benefice of Stapleford. Her commitment to faith and justice will be a real gift to the parish, and we look forward to her starting.
